Istanbul Kültür University

As a foundation university, Istanbul Kültür University is a university with public legal personality subject to the provisions of Law No. 2547 on Foundation Higher Education Institutions. It is only possible for the State of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation to achieve their unchangeable goal of "going beyond the level of contemporary civilization", if our young people receive a qualified education at any stage. In this context, the main purpose of Istanbul Kultur University is to provide high-quality higher education.

Our University, which has a strong corporate culture, continues undergraduate education with its 8 faculties as of the 2020-21 academic year, including the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Art and Design, and the Faculty of Health Sciences; associate degree education at two vocational schools, namely IKU Vocational School and Justice Vocational School, as well as graduate and doctorate level education at the Graduate Education Institute. Our university has a strong academic staff who are experienced and prominent in their fields.

Our mission is to provide a qualified education that nurtures the talents that will shape the future and to increase scientific, artistic and cultural activities. And our vision is to be a university with a national and an international reputation in teaching, scientific research and community service.

Istanbul Kültür University, which is a higher education institution legally recognized in Germany and whose degrees are evaluated to be equivalent by the German Conference of Culture Ministers (Central Office for Foreign Education), is currently in “ANABIN” data system (http://anabin.kmk.org).
As a foundation university, our university has a greater room for action, particularly with regard to innovative projects such as the German Career and Workforce Program.

Due to the strong Turkish-German relations of the university, conferences and academies are held through many Turkish-German cooperation, and faculty members, politicians and students from various departments from Germany visit the university. The DAAD e.V., known as the “German Academic Exchange Service”, holds its only German-speaking law lectureship in Turkey here.
